The Coles Notes for Wednesday’s highly-anticipated rematch between the New York Rangers and the Washington Capitals may focus on the 141 penalty minutes dished out, particularly the 100-PIM 1st period. What shouldn’t be lost in the mess of gloves on the ice is how incredible a night it was for TJ Oshie.

Oshie was playing with a heavy heart after announcing his father had passed away the day before. It’s admirable enough that he was able to suit up, but he went on to score a hat-trick as well.

Oshie was noticeably emotional on the bench, and afterwards his teammates and coach discussed what it was like to be a part of the moment.

Where are these onions at? Why has someone been cutting onions ever since the Caps game finished???
