Baseball is a game with a ton of strange rules, and most of them make a lot of sense even if they seem a little obscure at the time. One particular rule came into play Saturday as the Arizona Diamondbacks were taking on the Los Angeles Dodgers.

That’s because Devon Marrero, who came to the Diamondbacks for the beginning of this year, crushed a 3-run homer. Unfortunately, it didn't end up counting as a 3-run homer...

Busted. Although the base running error that saw Marrero accidentally pass Alex Avila while both were admiring the homer, it could have possibly had any effect on the ball leaving the park. But as they say, rules are rules. Fans had a mixed reaction to the weird rule that ended up being scored as a two-run single for Marrero.
