Winning a gold medal is something that every hockey player dreams of. The dreams include golden goals, equipment yard sales, dog piles, and tears as the golden medallion is hung from the dreamer’s neck, but it doesn’t usually involve… a stretcher.
Unfortunately for Canadian player Blayre Turnbull, that became a reality after she appeared to hurt her ankle during the celebrations.
Not the way you would chose to spend your golden moment, but it didn’t seem to kill the moment entirely. The stretcherd-out Turnbull was all smiles as she held up the #1 with one hand, and her recently-earned gold medal with the other!
What a moment!
