Training dogs to become future assistance dogs is starting to become a new trend in the NHL and it’s one that we’re all for.

A couple of months ago the St. Louis Blues introduced Barclay, a yellow Labrador Retriever they’re training this season in partnership with Duo, non-profit organization that specializes in training service dogs, and Thursday afternoon he stole the show on the ice after the team’s practice.

Every workplace is a little better when there are dogs around, even if they end up stealing the things you need the most.

Hopefully more teams start getting on board with this new trend, because it’s one that all teams in all leagues should be doing.
