After what feels like an eternity of an NHL team in Seattle being a mere idea, the Kraken have stormed onto the scene and are in the midst of preparing for their first-ever season as a team.

Seattle’s NHL team is hosting their first training camp in team history right now, and so far, it sounds like things are going great.

Players have been raving about the facilities and culture that Seattle has provided them with, and based upon what we’re hearing out of camp, Seattle is definitely adopting a new-age angle that people seem to be really appreciating.

The strangest thing we’ve seen out of camp so far?

Easy, Brandon Tanev’s shin pad tape job.

While most people go for a single strip or two of clear tape to keep their shin pads and socks in place, Tanev elected to try out a full-blown candy cane style TJ to get the job done.

Those things definitely won’t be moving out of place!

We’re not sure if this tape job will ever see a game situation, but we’re very interested to find out.
