Losing in the Stanley Cup Final is one of the most crushing feelings a hockey player will ever have (speaking from absolutely no experience in playing a Stanley Cup Final). The ultimate goal of a hockey player is to win a Cup, so to come so close and have the dream slip away is a heartbreaking thought.

That’s the feeling that Brendan Gallagher and the Montreal Canadiens are going through right now after Wednesday’s Game 5 defeat at the hands of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Unfortunately, that feeling somehow got worse for Gallagher, who seems to have returned home only to find his house had been robbed.

Oh man, talk about getting kicked while you’re down.

We don’t have much information on the robbery beyond Gallagher eluding to it happening, so we won’t speculate on anything else. All we can say is that we feel for Gally, and we hope that there is some sort of resolve to this.

We also appreciate that he broke the awful news with a sense of humour, seeing as Pit Bull has never had anything quite like Gally’s last 24 hours happen.
