Evander Kane and the Buffalo Sabres have seen better days.

The organization has struggled in recent years and are currently in the midst of a three game losing streak in which they have failed to score a single goal. The most recent loss came on Friday night in a deflating 4-0 contest against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Buffalo has now been outscored 9-0 over the stretch.

Things got heated between the cross-division teams when Kane and Pittsburgh Penguins forward Bryan Rust got into it towards the end of the third period. After both players were awarded roughing penalties, Rust continued the action inside of the box with some harsh words towards his opponent. Watch as he could hardly contain himself while ripping into Kane.

The following video is not suited for a working environment.

You’ve got to wonder what Kane said to set Rust off like that. The Sabres forward has gradually earned the reputation as quite the pest, and has demonstrated an ability to get under his opponents’ skin. He has also been known to make noise off the ice in the past as well.

Kane and Rust aren’t the only two to have engaged in a heated shouting match this year from the box. Earlier in the season, Los Angeles Kings defenceman Drew Doughty and Calgary Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk went at it on their October 11 matchup at the Staples Center, with the situation stemming from an elbow the former received from the latter in the previous season.

Things can obviously get tense during a game but usually these types of situations tend to settle down afterwards. Besides, at least no one managed to get hurt while they were in there.
