Last November, Tucson Roadrunners captain Craig Cunningham collapsed on the ice prior to puck drop. Thankfully, the staff in attendance got to him quick enough to save his life.
A couple of months ago, the AHL honoured Cunningham by having this yearโs 48 All-Stars rock No. 14 during the warm-ups.
Cunningham recently returned to Tucson Arena, but he only went in the change room and the press box. On Friday, the 26-year-old Trail, British Columbia native laced up the skates and returned to the ice for the first time since the incident.
Itโs truly remarkable how quickly Cunningham is improving and his story is truly one of the most inspiring in all of sports.
