If you're a Raptors fan, it's hard not to feel for DeMar DeRozan.

The 1st round pick in 2009 spent the first 9 seasons of his career in Toronto and represented this city with an incredible amount of passion and fire on and off the court every chance he got.

He also was able to share the court (and All-Star appearances) with one of his best friends, Kyle Lowry, and help but the city of Toronto and the Raptors on the map in ways in which they never were before.

Now DeRozan is gone, though, and according to NBA on TNT's David Aldridge he's claiming that the franchise that he went to bat for for the last 9 years lied to him.

DeRozan shared this on his Instagram story early Tuesday morning which seem to confirm the report of him being lied to.

At the end of the day, sports are first and foremost a business and although every player knows that's the case, situations like this make that fact verydifficult to deal with.

All Raptors fans can do now is thank DeRozan for doing what he did during his team here and wish him the best of luck in San Antonio.

Thoughts on a @demar_derozan statue in Toronto? 🦖🦖
