The Golden State Warriors came away with a huge Game 5 win on Tuesday night, but unfortunately it came at a price.

Just minutes into the second quarter, Kevin Durant went down with what’s being reported as a suspected torn Achillies. The 30-year-old entered the contest having missed the Warriors’ previous eight contests with what the team revealed was a calf injury.

Rapper and Raptors Global Ambassador Drake had as clear a view of the injury as anyone in his courtside seat, and appeared to be devastated as Durant left the court. After new broke of Durant’s suspected injury, Drizzy took to Instagram to share an emotional message for the former MVP.

Unfortunately Drake’s reaction did not emulate how most fans were feeling after KD went down. Fans went as far as cheering as he writhed in pain on the floor, prompting numerous Warriors players to criticize those in Scotiabank Arena (and outside) for their actions.

Despite being forced from the game, the win seemed to lift Durant’s spirits entirely. He had this to say on his own Instagram story after Golden State escaped with the narrow 106-105 victory:

The Warriors have a tall task ahead of them without Durant but hey, it’s not like a 3-1 lead hasn’t been blown before…
