Not only is it the holiday season (and winter, obviously), but it's also Teddy Bear Toss season.

For those fans not familiar with the Teddy Bear Toss, each year, minor and junior hockey teams across North America host a special Teddy Bear Toss Night at the arena. For this specific event, teams encourage fans who are attending the game to bring some sort of stuffed animal with them so they can toss it on the ice following the team’s first goal of the night.

After the game, all the stuffed animals that were tossed onto the ice are donated to local children’s hospitals and charities as Christmas presents.

On Sunday, the Calgary Hitmen hosted their Teddy Bear Toss night at the Saddledome and Vladislav Yeryomenko made the bears fly with his goal in the first period.

A ton of Teddy Bears flew onto the ice, so much so that the players had to help get them organized and off the ice.
While we haven't seen an official number for how many Teddy Bears were thrown on the ice, Blake Heynen let everyone know it was over 20,000.
