Floyd Mayweather has been all over the media this year due to his long anticipated fight with MMA star Conor McGregor. Both Mayweather and McGregor constantly brought up the importance of money in their agreeance to fight, and they apparently made a boatload in doing so. The event was drawn out with promotional events, endless television and social marketing, and both fighters appearing side by side multiple times to essentially hype up themselves while belittling the other.

Some call it entertainment, others call it a money grab.

One thing was very clear during all this, money was the central element to making this fight happen. Mayweather and McGregor love money.

Months after the fight had come and gone, rewarding Mayweather with his final win in an unprecedented 50-0 record, Mayweather wasn’t going to sit back and watch his pile of money dissipate. Instead, he was going to sit back and watch his money pile grow by taking a very lucrative vacation.

According to a post Mayweather uploaded to Instagram, Mayweather was paid a hefty sum of $3 million to make an appearance in China. They weren’t exactly asking him to slum it either, as he explained that he was paid the amount and in return he had to “simply visit and vacation in luxury for a few days”.

This is Mayweather’s world, we’re all just paying him to be in it.
