Last November, Oshawa Generals prospect Owen Brady was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, the same kind of cancer Terry Fox had, but that isn’t stopping him from doing what he loves most.

The 16-year-old Whitby, Ontario native underwent a 19-hour surgery to remove a tumour from his left leg shortly after the diagnosis and he’s currently halfway through chemotherapy, and last month he took a huge step forward on his road to recovery as he took to the ice for the very first time since the diagnosis.

Brady was joined by former NHL defenceman Paul Ranger, who happens to be a good friend and mentor of Owen’s, as the two took part in some shooting and skating drills.

Owen Brady has had the entire hockey community’s support during his battle and even got to spend some time with Vince Dunn and the Stanley Cup a couple of weeks ago.
