Just about every college basketball fan had their eyes on the Duke-UNC rivalry game on Wednesday night but it wasn’t the only game on the schedule. Earlier in the night there was a Battle of the Bulldogs as Georgia hosted Mississippi State and it went right down to the wire.

After the hosts were outscored 36-25 in the opening half, they battled back in the second half to tie the game and looked like they were about to force overtime. However, thanks to a foolish move by a fan in the crowd with less than one second left to go, Mississippi State was able to steal a win on the road.

With .5 left on the game clock, senior guard Quinndary Weatherspoon got a chance to win the game at the free throw line but his shot fell a little short. That didn’t matter, though, as a fan decided to throw a stuffed animal onto the court and it resulted in a technical foul against Georgia and the eventual loss.

Hopefully that fan was able to escape without any injuries because they just cost their team a victory.
