Alex Ovechkin is one of the most dangerous shooters to ever play the game of hockey. The Russian powerhouse can be found in his office above the left faceoff dot in the opposing zone where he has scored a fair number of his career goals. On Monday, that number became 600.
Ovechkin became the 20th player to reach the mark, and only the 5th non-Canadian (Jaromir Jagr, Brett Hull, Teemu Selanne, and Jari Kurri are the others), and he did so in relatively quick fashion. Only three players have reached the milestone in few games.

The hockey world erupted in congratulations for the big Russian sniper, taking to Twitter to send their best on a meaningful career moment.
600 goals for @ovi8 , just unreal. The only thing I did 600 times in hockey was say sorry to my goalies. :D— Tessa Bonhomme (@Tessab25) March 13, 2018
Ovi is the greatest. Literally. Arguably better pure goal scorer than Gretzky. One of the main reasons I’ve always been fond of the Caps.— CJ Woodling (@CJWoodling) March 13, 2018
Congrats on 600 @ovi8

Wow, 600 goals for the Great 8, Alex Ovechkin. Congrats to one of the best goal scorers (or the best) hockey has ever known. @ovi8— JustinTheOreo (@JayTheOreoYT) March 13, 2018
Alex Ovechkin leads the NHL in goals since 1998-99 despite beginning his NHL career in 2005. He is the only player in the NHL to score 30 or more goals in each season since 2005-06 and his average of 0.61 goals per game is fifth in NHL history (minimum: 300 games played).— CapitalsPR (@CapitalsPR) March 13, 2018
