The MLB is in a lot of trouble right now, and we aren’t even talking about the low ticket sales and viewership that became a big story last season. We also aren’t even talking about the total lack of agreement between the MLB and MLBPA in “efforts” to bring baseball back. Those are bad, but we’re talking about the total loss of integrity that may be sitting on the doorstep.

We all know what happened with the Houston Astros and their infamous sign-stealing scandal that had most baseball fans calling for their World Series title to be stripped. Since then, the Boston Red Sox also got busted. Now the New York Yankees could be next in line after a judge’s ruling determined that a reportedly damning letter from Rob Manfred to the team could reveal a “more serious sign-stealing scandal”.

Not. Good.

We won’t be able to see the letter until June 19th at the earliest, but apparently MLB Sporting News writer Joe Rivera has an MLB source helping to spill the beans. These details are in no way confirmed, which Rivera acknowledges in his thread, but it certainly sounds like SOMETHING is happening.

Obviously a Yankees cover up is a really bad look for the league, but if this sign-stealing problem comes forward into the spotlight it will likely further hurt a league that is already bleeding.

We’ll see what happens, stay tuned.
