In October of 2017, the Sabres signed Jack Eichel to an eight-year, $80 million extension which keeps him in Buffalo long term and puts a LOT of money in his bank.

The extension kicks in this season for Eichel and now that he knows he'll be in Buffalo for the long run, buying a house is a big priority for the Sabres superstar and lo and behold, according to the Buffalo News, Eichel bought a house from a former Bills GM:

Doug Whaley, who was the Bills' GM from 2013-2016, sold his home to Eichel for a reported $985,000, as per BillsWire and the Erie County Clerk's Office.

Whaley reportedly bought the house for $752,000, so he made a nice amount on Eichel who now has more than enough to pay for a house of that price and size (3,451 square feet).

We imagine Bills fans are happy Whaley will be out of town as the team drafted EJ Manuel, Sammy Watkins, and Shaq Lawson in the first round under his regime and never made the playoffs.
