Jason Demers found out who he was traded for in an absolutely lousy way

Just because the NHL regular season is right around the corner doesn't mean teams aren't looking or willing to make trades right now.

On Sunday, the Coyotes and Panthers made a deal that sent Jason Demers to the desert for Jamie McGinn.

This offseason, players have shared some pretty crazy stories about how they found out they got traded.

We haven't, however, heard a story quite like the one McGinn told Sarah McLellan of azcentral of how Demers found out about the details of the trade he was involved in.

"He was excited that he was coming here, so he could play with me," McGinn said. "I let him know that I was the one going the other way, so he didn't know."

McGinn and Demers are friends and former teammates (San Jose). Both players found out they were being traded by their respective General Mangers, but the way Demers found out about the details of the deal sucked.

However, Demers seems to be very excited about the new opportunity that is ahead.
