After a 15-year career with the Minnesota Twins, Joe Mauer’s career may be coming to an end. In what was expected to be the last game of his career, Twins fans showed out en masse for the 2009 AL MVP.

Two of those fans? Mauer’s daughters, who, as a planned surprise, rushed their dad as he took to the field, in what was already an emotional finale.

If that wasn’t enough to get you in your feelings, check out the ovation he got from home fans! Though he has played at designated hitter since 2013, the Twins returned him to his former position of catcher for the ninth inning, and it’s truly the perfect send-off.

Mauer, a three-time AL batting champ and six-time All-Star, sent a double into the left-field gap in the likely last at-bat of his career.
