The San Jose Sharks were the big winners on Thursday as they bolstered their team by acquiring arguably the best defenceman in the league in Erik Karlsson.
The addition of the former Sens' captain immediately puts the Sharks on the list of true Stanley Cup contenders in the NHL and you have to think everyone in San Jose, from management to the players, are extremely excited about the trade.
In fact, we got an immediate reaction from Joe Thornton thanks to Pierre LeBrun and it perfectly summed up how everyone is feeling in San Jose.
The pressure is obviously on the Sharks to win a Stanley Cup this season, but with Karlsson that task becomes that much easier to accomplish.
