A lot of goaltender masks have been released this summer, but none have compared to the one Anaheim Ducks goaltender John Gibson will be donning this season.

The Ducks changed their name from the ‘Mighty Ducks’ ahead of the 2006-07 season, and fans haven’t exactly been thrilled about it. Most would agree that the new logo hardly compares to the old classic one that was also used in Disney’s Mighty Ducks movies. The team’s shoulder patch features the old bird, and a third jersey was even made in its honour. Alternate jerseys were recently removed from the NHL, though, and the shoulder patch is hardly visible.

Gibson wanted the old logo to be more visible for viewers, so he decided to design this incredible new helmet. Take a look at what might be the NHL’s new nicest helmet.

Wow.

Everyone appreciated the old purple and green colour combination, but black, white, and grey is actually pretty slick. Can you imagine how it would look on the ice with this awesome Mighty Ducks concept uniform?

Gibson isn’t the only Ducks goalie in recent memory to rock an awesome helmet, as former Ducks goaltender Jonas Hiller's old one featured in-depth photos of his teammates.

Both are great, but we'll let you decide which of the is nicer. Where does it rank amongst the league's best today?
