With the NBA returning to action following an eventful pandemic and an uproar of frustrated social justice warriors, it’s a much different feel around the league. Players want to capitalize on their platform, and we’ve seen it in lots of forms including messaging on jerseys, speeches and discussions, and the Toronto Raptors team buses.

Another form of protest that has been around sports for a number of years now is kneeling during the national anthem. Although it brings controversy along with it, kneeling has become more and more popular ahead of sports games.

Saying that, it’s not for everyone. Some people were surprised when Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac decided to forgo the ‘Black Lives Matter’ shirt the rest of his teammates were wearing, and also declining to kneel for the anthem while others did.

Unfortunately, a little bit of cruel irony unfolded when Isaac hit the deck with an apparent knee injury. While nothing is confirmed, it’s being reported that it may be a torn ACL.
