The Los Angeles Kings have been eliminated from the 2018 playoffs after getting swept by the Vegas Golden Knights, but Jonathan Quick shouldn’t take any of the blame.

While Quick has often earned the reputation of a big-time playoff performer, many pointed out that he didn’t necessarily have the consistent performance of the elite goalies in the league. He makes acrobatic and sometimes unbelievable saves, but in many playoff years (Including the year that the Kings won their second Stanley Cup), he posted below average save percentages.

Not this year. You would think when a team gets swept in the first round might have had a goalie that struggled, but Quick actually put up ridiculous numbers.

This is actually the highest save percentage ever posted by a losing goalie to play in all four-games of a sweep. No one else is even close. These are the five goalies to ever come closest to his numbers:

Chris Mason 2009 – .916 – 0-4 First Round

Curtis Joseph 2003 – .917 – 0-4 First Round

Tommy Salo 1999 – .926 – 0-4 First Round

Rogie Vachon 1974 – .927 – 0-4 Second Round

Glenn Hall 1968 – .927 – 0-4 Final

Jonathan Quick 2018 – .947 – 0-4 First Round

Anze Kopitar said it himself, you can’t win a series scoring one goal a game.
