The Nashville Predators lost to the Calgary Flames last night and watching this clip won’t make Preds fans feel any better.

While everyone has been excited to see Kevin Fiala back on the ice after a brutal injury last season, he didn’t have his finest night last night. The brunt of it (That you’ll see below), wasn’t really his fault – that’s just the way hockey goes sometimes.

Mike Smith was in the Flames net last night and he’s been known to play the puck a lot. Well, he got himself into trouble last night, but the hockey gods seemed to help him out. Just look at this sequence from Kevin Fiala.

Of course, Fiala was not happy about it. There have been plenty of people to miss open nets in the past (And they all ended up in Top-10s for years), but rarely has someone missed in such an important situation – usually the game isn’t so close.

Sometimes the puck just bounces and there’s nothing you can do about it. Still, it feels good to take some frustration out on your stick…Carey Price understands.
