The Utah Jazz have been dominated by the Houston Rockets in their playoff series thus far, but they had their best chance at sealing a game in Game 3. On a night where James Harden shot 3-of-20 from the field, the Jazz had a clean look to force overtime as time winded down — however, Donovan Mitchell missed the shot.

Perhaps sensing that his team’s young star was feeling down on himself after the game, veteran sharpshooter Kyle Korver called reporters back after his post-game interviews to deliver some very moving words of encouragement for Mitchell.

As talented as Mitchell is, he’s also a 22 year old in only his second year in the league. Of course there will be some down nights, especially given that his roster isn’t one loaded with All-Stars and shot creators, but it’s certainly a good thing that he has a vet like Korver on his side. This is just a terrific display of having your teammate’s back.

Even at his young age, Mitchell has proven to be a reliable go-to scorer and an even better frontman for the team. He’s loved by the fans in Utah, and he loves them right back!
