There were a lot of new faces on this year’s Raptors team that did the thing and captured the NBA championship, but perhaps it meant a little more to the team’s veterans, Kyle Lowry and Serge Ibaka.

For Lowry, seven seasons with the Raptors have finally culminated in the ultimate payoff, and considering the bumps along the road to this point, you know this one is special. For Ibaka, this was his third season in Toronto, but for him, it means the world as a kid from the Congo.

Hard work pays off for #KyleLowry 👏

If Kawhi wowed us with single-season dominance in his first year with the Raptors, the story for these two has been more of a slow burn, grinding through multiple years of playoff struggle to finally win it all. You love to see these guys finally get a taste of glory.

Of course, Raptors fans know how that feels. After 24 years of team history, they’re at last champions. How do you celebrate a first-ever? It’s only fitting that the city was buzzin’.

The streets of Toronto are absolutely wild right now 👀
