Kyle Shanahan is hoping he’ll be able to turn the San Francisco 49ers around in a short period of time as he prepares to begin his first season as the team’s head coach.

The 37-year-old is coming off a two-year stint as the Atlanta Falcons’ offensive coordinator, and although he isn’t expecting to guide his new squad to the Super Bowl in his first year with the team, he definitely plans on making them more competitive than last season’s team that went 2-14.

On Wednesday, Shanahan addressed the media to address some things ahead of the team’s season opener in Seattle on Sunday afternoon and ended up slipping up on one of the answers.

Everyone in the room got a good laugh out of his slip up, including Shanahan himself.

He’s not the first person to slip up in the middle of an interview, though, and he certainly won’t be the last one.

The Falcons combined for 19 wins over the two seasons Shanahan was on board as the team’s offensive coordinator, while the Niners have just 7 wins over the past two years.
