New York native Larry David was not impressed with a decision made by Rangers head coach David Quinn last week and he didn’t hesitate from calling him out during an appearance on ESPN 98.7 FM.

Let’s kick things back to January 2nd, when the Rangers took on the Flames in Calgary. After rookie Kaapo Kakko scored his first goal in 14 games (and added an assist), he was benched for the rest of regulation after taking a holding penalty with 7:52 left in the third. The whole thing didn’t sit well with LD, who had a tough time understanding the point of benching Kakko in the first place.

Who knew he was such a hockey dude?

Thought New York’s other sports teams were in the clear, did ya? DID YA?! Think again. David recalled telling former Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan to draft Lamar Jackson back in 2018. Who would have thought that LARRY DAVID could have been the Jets’ savior?

“I did call Mike Maccagnan before the 2018 draft and I recommended that he draft Lamar Jackson,” David said. “I have a witness!”

“He kinda gave me the most condescending…He laughed at me, but who could blame him? No one really thought Jackson would be good except for the Ravens.”

Oh- and he also gave a pretty wild explanation for why he doesn’t trust Adam Gase. Gotta love LD.

Quinn, Gase, take notes!
