At the start of 2017 LaVar Ball was just an overly excited basketball-dad with a son who was NBA bound. As we reach the conclusion of 2017, LaVar Ball is now an overly excited basketball-dad with a son who is in the NBA, and has his silhouette featured as the logo for a brand new basketball league.

Earlier in the week, LaVar announced his intentions to launch the "Junior Basketball Association," a paid leaue that will provide high school basketball prospects with a second option outside of playing in the NCAA, giving players the chance to earn upwards of $10,000 a month. As per Darren Rovell, the logo for the JBA features LaVar's oldest son, Lonzo, going up for a dunk.

Let us know when you're done laughing so that we can go on to the funniest part about this logo...

All good? Great. So, what could possibly be funnier than seeing a soaring Lonzo silhouette, complete with dated hairstyle, being used as the logo for a league? The explanation from LaVar as to why he used Lonzo dunking as the logo.

“We don’t need a logo of a guy dribbling,” Ball said, in an obvious reference to the NBA’s famous Jerry West silhouette. “Nobody does that anymore.” (LaVar Ball - ESPN)

That's right, no one dribbles anymore. Nope, not even once. LeBron definitely doesn't. Neither does Lonzo apparently. Jerry West was the last person to dribble a ball. Dribbling is an antiquated strategy in the game of basketball -- not a primary rule.

LaVar Ball is playing 136D Backgammon, while we're all just playing checkers (and basketball with the correct rules).
