The Toronto Maple Leafs’ season came to an end on Wednesday night after a tough loss to the Boston Bruins in Game 7.

The team had come back from a 3-1 deficit in the series, but they weren’t able to close things out in Game 7. The Leafs are back in Toronto today, but they haven’t had their season-ending media day yet. Before that, some of the players decided to share their messages to the fans on Instagram and overall, it seems like they’re feeling pretty positive about the future.

Morgan Rielly, Nazem Kadri and Connor Carrick all posted on Instagram with short messages for the fans.

Thank you Leaf fans, we will be back.

Thank you Toronto. We do it for you and each other. We’ll be back.. #TorontoStrong

As we wrote earlier this morning, there is still plenty of time for the young leafs to improve upon their first two seasons. Virtually none of the top players in the league have substantial playoff success in their first two season, but players like Carrick, Rielly and Kadri have been around a little longer.

Either way, the message seems to be the same from all of them. The Leafs plan on being competitive again next season.
