Today is a day to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. and all the beliefs he’s made famous across the world. It’s a day to celebrate the coming together of people, rather than the division, and the importance of loving and respecting each other no matter what background someone comes from.

Throughout the day, we’ve seen various forms of tribute to the iconic social justice fighter. Ahead of the Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Winnipeg Jets, we saw one particularly beautiful nod to Black culture – a gospel rendition of the Canadian anthem in celebration of MLK Jr. Day.

The solo from Martina Ortiz Luis… that was beautiful. While it’s hard to find anything that suits absolutely everyone’s taste, this seems to have gotten pretty darn close.

We wouldn’t be opposed to hearing this rendition before each and every game. Wow!
