After exceeding expectations in the playoffs last season for the Avalanche, Cale Makar has picked up right where he left off in his first full season in the National Hockey League.

The 21-year-old has 18 points in 18 games thus far (3 straight games with a goal, 6 points in his last 3 games) and ahead of Thursday's game in Edmonton, he earned some incredibly high praise from one of the best players in the world who just so happens to be his teammate.

Will #Makar win the #Calder? [🤔]

Makar has less than 30 games of experience under his belt and he's already earning this kind of praise from his teammates and peers in the league.

Right now, Makar is the frontrunner to win the Calder and he continues to play at this level, a Norris could be on the horizon, too.
