Ah, what could have been.

The Raps and Clippers are both officially out of the NBA postseason and now basketball fans are left wondering… would Toronto have repeated with Kawhi? Who knows, but apparently Kawhi didn’t feel like they could have when he was choosing his team last summer. Following the Clippers’ Game 7 loss to the Nuggets, TSN’s Josh Lewenberg reported that according to a source, Kawhi told the Raptors that he didn’t believe the team was good enough to repeat. Toronto finished second in the East, but lost a Game 7 of their own against the Celtics.

Toronto fans didn't exactly  seem to agree...

Why Kawhi?! Why?!?!?!?!

Paul George, who also factored into Leonard’s decision to leave town, scored just 10 points in the series’ final game. Kawhi scored just 14 in the 104-89 loss.

The 29-year-old is set to become a free agent in 2022 so who knows... maybe he’ll make a return? But yikes, seeing this has got to hurt Raptors fans.
