Raptors fans were given custom Kawhi “King of the North” crowns to wear at Jurassic Park
On the hardwood, he’s labeled as a small forward, but in the streets of Toronto, he’s known as King of the North.

King Kawhi Leonard has rapidly climbed up the ladder on the Toronto sports hierarchy of superior athletes.

Some have already made the case that, despite him playing only one season (and counting?) in Toronto, he’s already the greatest athlete in the history of the city’s sports scene and has even drawn comparisons to the great MJ.
Regardless of where he’s ranked, there’s no doubting his importance to the Raps’ playoff push.

That is why New Balance has come up with a shrewd marketing plan centered around Kawhi being the “King of the North.

Ahead of Game 2 of the NBA Finals in Toronto, the athletic apparel and shoe company handed out king crowns for those down at Jurassic Park and near Scotiabank Arena.

Sorry Burger King, but this one is just a little bit cooler.

You have to tip your cap to New Balance for another smart marketing initiative. First, they signed Kawhi; secondly, they capitalized on his low-maintence and down-to-earth personality; and now, they’re thriving on what Raptors fans truly believe: Kawhi is King of the North, no matter if this is his final playoff series in a Raptors uniform or not.
