Goalie Matej Machovsky signed a one-year contract with the Detroit Red Wings earlier this year and is currently experiencing his first professional season in North America after spending the past four years with HC Plzeň in the Czech Extraliga.
The 24-year-old participated in the Red Wings’ development camp last summer and was impressive enough to earn a contract with the club. Although he’s not currently on the NHL roster, the undrafted prospect decided to have a Red Wings mask created and he really went all in with the Motor City theme.
Designed by famous mask artist David Gunnarsson, Machovsky’s new Red Wings bucket is called The Detroit Muscle Car mask and it features different old school automobiles.
Machovsky posted a 94-84 record with a .924 save percentage and a 2.11 goals against average during his time in the Czech Extraliga.
