Playing in their sixth game against each other, the Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates let tempers flare over on Sunday afternoon.

In the series finale, Derek Dietrich launched a two-run dinger off Chris Archer during the second inning of action. During his home-run trot, Dietrich stood at home plate and shared an appreciation for his blast before rounding the bases.

Pirates starter didn't appreciate Dietrich admiring himself, so during his next at-bat, Archer sent a stern message by throwing behind Dietrich.

After both teams were warned, Reds manager David Bell complained to the home-plate umpire. Dietrich marched towards the mound to have a word with Archer that prompted both benches to clear.

Yasiel Puig felt inspired to go after the Pirates and had to be held back from teammate Tucker Barnhart.

Check out this hilarious photo from the incident.

Puig, Pirates first-baseman Josh Bell, Reds pitcher Amir Garrett and Pirates relievers Keone Kela and Felipe Vazquez were forced to hit the showers for their roles in the mini-brawl.

Archer and Dietrich both stayed in the game, and in the eight innings, the Reds utility-man went yard for the second time in the game.

Maybe Dietrich simply wasn't a fan of those throwback Pirates?

The Pirates would get the last laugh, though, beating Cincy 7-5.
