Russian Feminist protest punk rock group claims resposibility for invading pitch during World Cup Final.
The Associated Press reported that Pussy Riot, a Russian feminist protest punk band, took responsibility for the pitch invasion.
Pussy Riot later confirmed it via their Twitter account.
The anti-Vladimir Putin group came to fame back in 2012 at an outdoor concert where they criticized Putin, resulting in two of the band’s member being arrested. Since then, the group has protested on several occasions, but nothing quite matches the grand stage of the World Cup Final.
