Ryan Strome just might be Connor McDavid’s #1 fan.
The forward, who was acquired by the Oilers ahead of last season, got a taste of what it’s like to play with the pheonome and saw first–hand what he can do with the puck on his stick. When asked about how he thinks his teammate will do in the upcoming season, he simply couldn’t hold his excitement back.
So… you think Stromer’s on the McJesus train right now errrrrrr…
His words hardly come a surprise when you consider what McDavid has been able to do over the past two seasons. One Hart Trophy, a playoff berth, and two Art Ross trophies, one of which came with an underwhelming Oilers team. With another year under his belt, Connor should be in for another huge season. And by the looks of it, he really is ready to “absolutely torch this league.”
The Oilers didn’t bring in a whole lot of help this offseason, but he’s proven to be a one-man wrecking machine over the past couple of seasons. Strome may have been stating the obvious, but hopefully this will get you fired up to watch this guy on the ice in just a few short weeks.
