Finally, the Mascot Power Rankings have come back to the sports world (Rock voice).

Yes, we took a week and a day off, but the holidays got the best of us and we're back and better than ever.  Mascots don't take holidays, though, and a number of mascots from across the sports world have shined over the past two weeks.

Before we reveal our top ten for the first week of the new year, though, take a look at the rankings from two weeks ago.

Now, for those that aren't familiar with the power rankings, here's how they work, every week we rank mascots based on what they did in the week(s) prior.  Now that you know part of the secret formula, enjoy the rankings!

10. Outback Bowl Mascot (Unranked)

Not only do teams have mascots, but Bowl games do as well, which is no surprise considering how many of them there are.

This past weekend, though, was one of the biggest in college football as the two semifinal games were played as well as the Peach and Outback Bowls.  The Outback Bowl is the one we're going to focus on, though, because of the mascot.

9. The Coyote, San Antonio Spurs (Up 111 spots)

Everyone has that one friend that goes a little hard on New Year's Eve and misses the countdown.

This year, The Coyote happened to be that person and although The Coyote was asleep at midnight, we rewarded the mascot with the number nine spot.

8. Banjo, Milwaukee Bucks (Up 25 spots)

Mr. Steal Your Girl is apparently the Milwaukee Bucks mascot and he hilariously swooped in on this romantic moment in a Santa suit.

7. Louis, St. Louis Blues (Up 88 spots)

Whenever you watch a game as a visiting fan, you risk getting booed or made fun of.  No visiting fans, however, expect to get trolled by mascots when they show up wearing an opposing team's jersey.

When Louie is around, no visiting fans are safe and he proved that when the Hurricanes were in town in a funny way.

6. Penn State Nittany Lions Mascot (Up 35 spots)

The Penn State Nittany Lions ran all over Washington to win the Fiesta Bowl and although Saquon Barkley made many highlight reel plays, the Lions' mascot may have made the best play of the game.

5. Clutch, Houston Rockets (Down 3 spots)

Beside the word 'savage' in the dictionary is a picture of Clutch.  The kid that kicked him below the belt might be there with Clutch, too, but you have to admire both of them doing whatever it took to win Musical Chairs.

4. Crunch, Minnesota Timberwolves (Up 160 spots)

Speaking of savage, Crunch turned a kind Christmas act into a hilarious prank on this poor Nuggets fan who thought he was getting a beautiful Timberwolves jersey.

Guess you can't every jersey you want in life.

3. Rocky The Mountain Lion, Denver Nuggets (Up 58 spots)

The Nuggets might be behind the Rockets in the standings, but Rocky owns Clutch in this edition of the rankings and in dodgeball.

2. Carlton The Bear, Toronto Maple Leafs (Up 44 spots)

Not only did Carlton dominate the Jets in the video game world, but the loveable bear celebrated the holidays with the perfect picture.

1. Sabretooth, Buffalo Sabres (Stays at 1)

For the first time in the history of the Mascot Power Rankings, someone is at the top for a second straight week, and that someone is Sabretooth.

The Sabres' mascot braved and embraced the cold when Canada and the United States made history outdoors and Sabretooth also partook in a bunch of other holiday and non-holiday related activities that anyone would enjoy.
