Snoop Dogg knows a thing or two about the music industry, California sunsets, coaching youth football, and now, the 46-year-old rapper is ready to teach you about the hockey’s most prized possession, the Stanley Cup.

In a new series with NHL.com, Snoop is teaming up with the league to educate fans that aren’t as versed with the game in a fun, weekly segment called “Hockey 101 with Snoop Dogg.”

The Professor’s Professor, AKA Dogg Cherry will give fans an inside look to the ins and outs of the game in a way only he can explain. The first tutorial was released on Wednesday prior to the start the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs, with the first episode being centered around that silver piece of hardware that one lucky team will lift at the beginning of June.

So without further to do, here’s the video of the Doggfather giving you the lowdown on the Stanley Cup to you and your crew.

In an interview with Deadline.com, the NHL’s executive vice president, Steve Mayer, told the website why the NHL decided to recruit Snoop.

“We’re just trying to get him out there to the masses,” said Mayer, “who then will tune in to watch some hockey, we hope — and get sucked in for the entire playoffs.”

“One of the things we noticed when Snoop came to our All-Star game a couple years ago in Los Angeles was not only is he Snoop and everybody loves him, but he really loves hockey.” The first thing he said when we walked into the East locker room was, ‘Sid the Kid!'” — calling out All World center Sidney Crosby of the two-time defending champion Pittsburgh Penguins.

“He knows the players, he knows the game, and we started talking back then about how he feels like he can help promote the game.”

The next episode will feature the California native breaking down some of the slang and jargon used in the hockey world.

We can’t wait till Snoop starts explaining what a dangle is, or why his cornrows are considered nice flow. Just waits till he yells BROUHAHA, or starts rhyming about snipin’ and saucin’.
