The CFL is back, and Juwan Brescacin of the Calgary Stampeders announced his return to football action in style. During the second quarter of Saturday night’s game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Brescacin turned in this catch of the year candidate:

Unfortunately, the 42-yard gain proved to be for naught just two plays later, when quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell’s pass was intercepted by Cariel Brooks.

Still, with the reach to be able to pull that thing down using just a single hand, fans everywhere were drawing comparisons to Odell Beckham, Jr.’s infamous catch.

With eyes everywhere tuned in to the Tiger-Cats game in hopes of seeing a glimpse at Johnny Manziel take the field, this certainly is one way for Brescacin to make himself the topic of conversation.

At the time of writing, the Stampeders hold a 20-14 lead over Hamilton late in the fourth quarter. Hey, it sure helped that Ticats linebacker Simoni Lawrence somehow found a way to interfere on his own teammate’s catch from the sideline!
