The Dallas Stars won a game that was chalked full of lots of things. Penalties, questionable calls, and saves were up. Goals, on the other hand, were way down.

The Stars beat the Boston Bruins 1-0 on  Friday, and while it is rare that only one goal would be scored in a game, it is certainly not completely unheard of. In fact, it happened on Saturday when the Calgary Flames beat the L.A. Kings with their lone goal.

That makes it all the more surprising that the Stars had never won a game 1-0 in overtime.

Now fans are wondering; is this a good thing or a bad thing?

Maybe it means that theyโ€™ve been shutout in regulation less than the other guys, or maybe it means that a 0-0 score at the end of regulation had been a monkey on the back. Fans echoed that sentiment in response to the odd stat.

Itโ€™s unclear whether this stat includes the Minnesota North Stars days, but even if it doesnโ€™t it must be nice for the franchise โ€“ that has been in Dallas since 1993 โ€“ to pick up that first 1-0 OT win.

The guys are probably just happy to grab the W after a feisty game that saw Brad Marchand pull a Roger Neilson and wave the white flag.
