Ladies and gentlemen, we have a BIG packaged trade to announce.

On Monday morning, the New York islanders acquired Jean-Gabriel Pageau in exchange for three draft picks: a conditional 2020 1st rounder, 2020 2nd rounder and conditional 2022 third rounder. Ottawa now has a total of 22 draft picks in the next two entry drafts; four first-rounders and seven second-rounders.

With 24 goals on the season, pageau is in the midst of a breakout campaign and was selected to his first All-Star game this past January. His previous career high was 19 in 2015-16 and is shooting at a ridiculous 17.8% this year, so some members of the hockey world aren't quite convinced heโ€™s worth THREE high draft picks.

The Islanders currently hold the Eastern Conferenceโ€™s first wild-card spot with 76 points. Pageau is expected to slot in the middle of their first line between Kieffer Bellows and Josh Bailey. The 27-year-old is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
