Hockey players are the toughest athletes in the world in our opinion because they do whatever it takes to help their team win. Everything includes blocking shots with any body part and not worrying about the consequences.
Sacrificing the body to block shots can lead to some scary injuries and Saturday night in Montreal, that's exactly what happened. During the second period of the Canadiens and Bruins game, Phillip Danault took a Zdeno Chara slapshot to the head.
#Bruins #Habs 2nd period was halted 1:37 early due to Danault injury but Chara wouldn’t leave the ice until Danault was secured on the stretcher. pic.twitter.com/E0F9pt2TfX

Chara's face right now... They play hard, they fight on the ice, but they care and never want to see each other hurt. I hope Danault's okay. #BOSvsMTL

#NHLBruins captain Zdeno Chara is massive, powerful and he plays the game very hard. His shot is a weapon. That he never moved while #Habs Phillip Danault was tended to, then wheeled off the ice on a stretcher, speaks to who he is as a man

Yikes. This is not looking good for Danault. Hoping for the best. Rivalry aside. Hate to see it.

Danault took a 76.43 MPH puck to the head from Chara. He's being stretchered off the ice now. Chara stood near him the whole time. No intent. Prayers to Danault 🙏
