Ah, yes, the championship banner unveiling. One of sports’ most sacred moments of celebration, in which teams that manage to beat all comers get to memorialize their achievements. The Houston Astros botched theirs!

Look, there’s no reason to grandstand and act like messing up a banner reveal is really this big deal, but to break this down with a quick film room session: Are they using leaf blowers to try to remove the curtain? What else do we have there, a single hook and a man on a ladder? That’s really what they’re going with?

From an ethical standpoint, the Astros deserve to be deeply shamed for this. Leaf blowers, man.

Among others, José Altuve and Justin Verlander were shown having a chuckle at the hardships of their arena crew, which is all well and good. In the end, with a solid triple-teaming effort from the leaf blower, hook and ladder man (really!), they got... most of the banner off. Enough to move forward with the fireworks display, at least.

Amidst all of this, however, one hawk-eyed commenter noticed the best detail.

This might actually be the best banner reveal of all time.
