While young boys who love hockey have always had the opportunity to dream of playing at the professional level, such has never been the case for young girls who played with every bit as much heart.

As you probably know, the Professional Women’s Hockey Player’s Association has taken a sturdy stance to change that, launching the Dream Gap Tour, with aim to create a sustainable league for professional women’s hockey.

The Tour stopped in Toronto this weekend, and there was no shortage of love for the players.

It was especially encouraging to see the support from the girls in the stands - the ones who the women on the ice are playing for, with hopes of creating a league for them to dream of playing in.

If the grind of being a professional women’s hockey player ever felt like it wasn’t worth it, the love and gratitude shown to them by these young fans who idolize them definitely served as a great reminder.

What a great moment for women’s hockey, it’s current players, and it’s hopefuls.
