Hockey fans, brace yourselves for what could be a WILD offseason.
We all know how free agent frenzy works, and there are some big names in that department, too (Alex Pietrangelo comes to mind as the biggest one). But then there’s those pesky trade targets. Most of them know what they’ll be getting paid next season (except for the RFAs) but might find them self playing in a different uniform next season.
TSN’s Frank Seravalli released his list of names to look out for and wow… there are some HUGE ones! Oliver Ekman-Larsson at number four… Kris Letang at number 10… and Winnipeg Jets forward Patrik Laine at NUMBER 5! Take a look at the top 10:
There’s obviously a lot to digest here. A trade involving any of these names really would be huge. It’s not often that we see TWO starting-caliber goalies crack the list, especially a duo that played together just a few years ago. As for the rest of the board, Laine’s teammate Nikolaj Ehlers isn’t too far behind. The 24-year-old is coming off of a 58-point campaign and is set to get paid $6 million over the next five years. Ehlers has a no-trade clause that begins in the 2022-23 season, where as Laine is heading into the final year of a two-year, $13.5 million contract.
