Life is pretty good right now if you're a fan of the Vancouver Canucks. They've won their last four games and they currently have the the fourth best record in the Western Conference.

But while some Canucks fans are content with seeing their current squad perform well in the present, one fan set out on a journey to watch a possible future star of their franchise -- Elias Pettersson. The Canucks drafted the young Swedish prospect with the 5th overall pick in the 2017 Draft, and just like his NHL club, Pettersson is off to a pretty hot start in the SHL. Through 12 games with Växjö Lakers HC, Petterson has scored 14 points.

Thursday, Canucks super fan, Shawn Yuan got the chance to see Pettersson play live, having travelled all the way from Vancouver (7595 KMs) to do so. From a fans perspective, the trip could not have gone any better. Firstly, Yuan got to see Petterson score a hat trick and record two assists.

Second, the Växjö Lakers shared a picture of Yuan, issuing him a warm welcome. Oh, and they conducted a video interview with him

And finally -- the best part -- Yuan got to actually meet Pettersson after the game.

Now tell us that that isn't a bucket list worthy experience for just about any hockey fan? Plenty of fans travel thousands of kilometers to watch their favourite team, but how many people actually get to meet the person they came to watch? Bravo, Shawn, bravo.
