We’ve seen some really bad calls by officials over the year. From an umpire blowing Armando Galarraga’s perfect game to the famous Tuck Rule Game, blown calls come in big moments and regular ones.
During a recent Mexican Baseball League game between Diablos Rojos del Mexico and Algodoneros de Union Lagun, the umpires on duty combined for one of the worst blown calls in the history of sports.
Pitcher Reinier Roibal threw a perfect pitch right down the middle that forced the batter to swing and miss the ball entirely, but both the home plate umpire and first base umpire ruled that the batter didn’t come through on the swing and ruled it a ball…
We’re going to guess these umpires had some money on the game. That or they forgot to put in their contacts before the action got underway.
