It’s been a tough year to say the least for Detroit Red Wings goaltender Thomas Greiss.

The 35-year-old is in the midst of his first season in Motown and to say it hasn’t been going well. At all. Through 15 games played, Greiss has just one win to his name (1-11-3), has a save percentage of just .882 and is rocking a pedestrian 3.46 goals against average. We can’t act like this is simply a reflection of poor goaltending, though. Detroit has been brutal across the board this year (7-14-3) and would likely be last in the Central Division had it not been for Dallas only playing 16 games so far (6-6-4).

Their goal-differential is -27 for crying out loud!

Frustration as boiled over and you could see it through Greiss who LOST is after allowed his seventh goal of the game. Can’t help but feel for the guy after watching this:

Yup, the Red Wings’ season in a nutshell right there.

It’s not like Detroit’s been helping their goalies out with goal support either. The Wings are averaging just 2.13 goals per game, just .18 ahead of the Ducks. We’re sure fans are missing the glory days from not too long ago right about now.

It’s looking like another write-off year for Detroit’s hockey team. Yikes.
